AI is redefining software development — faster than many expected.

In the article by De Morgen, our Senior Engineer Niels Rogge shares his perspective on the rapid rise of AI-powered software development and the explosion of so-called “vibe coding” — building applications largely generated by AI. Thanks to advances in AI coding agents, tasks that once took weeks can now be completed in days. But speed isn’t everything. As Niels puts it:

“An AI agent doesn’t know the security protocols of your company or the safest way to design software. That’s why it remains crucial for developers to clearly specify what needs to be built — and to carefully review the result.”

At ML6, we see AI taking over a large part of the coding work — but also making human expertise more important than ever, especially when it comes to architecture, security, and long-term maintainability.

AI is a powerful accelerator. Responsible engineering still makes the difference.
