As a machine learning engineer, Lisa develops end-to-end solutions for clients. Her focus lies mainly on natural language processing (NLP) where she has previously worked on projects around keyword extraction, clustering, named entity recognition, speech-to-text, speech-to-speech and others. She is also involved in the NLP chapter where she regularly dives into new papers and technologies to build demos or write blog posts. Lisa leads the working group around audio and speech where she and the team are currently building up internal knowledge around the subject.During a bachelor's degree in general theoretical linguistics and a master's in cognitive systems at the University of Potsdam in Germany, Lisa built up a strong theoretical background in linguistics and NLP. She wrote her master's thesis as an intern at ML6 about her development of the "intelligent illustrator", a text-guided Image-to-Image translator based on GANs which she handed in just a few weeks before similar multimodal models like Dall-E were published. You can find the blog posts about her thesis and internship here and here.

With her minor in philosophy and as part of the ethics unit Lisa helps developing the process for an ethical standard for internal and client projects at ML6. She's also engaged in regular discussions around the ethical risks of new use cases at ML6.

Outside her work at ML6, Lisa is involved in the tech community as a public speaker and has spoken at local meetups and bigger conferences such as ML Con Munich and the Chaos Communication Congress. She's also an active member of the community women.code(be) where she co-hosts events. With her minor in philosophy and as part of the ethics unit Lisa helps developing the process for an ethical standard for internal and client projects at ML6.
